Two Leigh Amateur Boxing Club vests travelled all the way to Beijing ... and came back signed by Olympic medallists.
Leigh MP Andy Burnham, who travelled to the Olympics in his role as Minister for Sport Culture and Media, and who is a staunch supporter of the club carried the vests with him.

And on a tour of the Olympic village the day before the boxing, he grasped the opportunity to get the vests signed.

Middleweight, James DeGale who won the gold medal along with super heavyweight, David Price and light heavyweight, Tony Jeffries who both took bronze put their signatures on the vests before they gained glory at the games.

Mr Burnham said: ''I am a frequent visitor to Leigh ABC and I am a great believer in it.
"The work they do is first class and the discipline and focus of boxing can benefit certain young people.
"I always try to make sure I am thinking about Leigh even as far away as Beijing!''

Mr Burnham presented the vests to the club earlier this week.
