THREE more post offices in the Leigh area will be axed in the next round of Royal Mail cuts.
Leigh's Manchester Road branch (right), and the Hart Common and Leigh Road branches in Westhoughton, are three of the 62 branches to get the chop in the Greater Manchester area.

The decision follows a six-week public consultation on the future of the three branches, which were earmarked for
closure in June.
The first closures are scheduled to take place in mid-September but dates for individual branches have not yet been agreed on.

Richard Lynds, Post Office Ltd's network development manager for the North West, said: "These are difficult decisions which have not been taken lightly. We have considered very carefully all the comments made during the public consultation.
"We believe that the plan announced today offers our customers in this area the best prospect for a sustainable
network in the future, bearing in mind the Government's minimum access criteria and the other factors the Government has asked us to consider."

Leigh East coun Keith Cunliffe said: "I'm disappointed our objections did not carry enough weight."
